Do you know a student that exemplifies the same amazing qualities as David Marcus?

 

A little about David:

 

"David Marcus was well known in Bakersfield for his positivity and uplifting personality.  In fact, he would later be immortalized on the Bakersfield Walk of Fame as "Mr. Bakersfield" for his work in community spirit."

David was a special needs man, fully aware of his disability, yet fully committed to his community. Even through all his trials, including becoming physically handicapped, David was:

  • Inspirational

  • Encouraging

  • Compassionate

  • Giving

  • Selfless

Do you know a high school senior that reminds you of David? General or Special Education? Nominate them!

  • Nominators may not be related to nominee (i.e., parent, sibling, grandparent, or any other 
    direct relative). 

  • Nominee must be a high school senior with a minimum GPA OF 3.0.

  • There is no current minimum or maximum amount of scholarship recipients that will be 
    selected for the 2022-2023 school year. Scholarships will be awarded upon verification of information provided in this packet. Nomination forms will be submitted to the 
    Scholarship Committee and the Nominator and/or Guardian will be notified soon 
    thereafter. 

  • Please contact Valerie (Valentyn) Guillen at Valerie.dmsf@gmail.com to submit an 
    application or call her at (661)330-8789 if you have any questions or comments.
