Who We Are
The David Marcus Thumbs Up Charity is a local nonprofit dedicated to keeping the inspirational legacy of David Marcus alive. Although mentally and physically disabled, David was an amazing soul who dedicated his life to sharing his faith and spreading positivity throughout Bakersfield.
Like David, we strive to give back to the community by building productive relationships through outreach in our community and awarding scholarships to local high school seniors.

Past and Upcoming Events
Our 3rd Annual Bingo Fundraiser was a massive success! With the support of our amazing community of donors and supporters - we were able to raise over $5000 in scholarship funds!
That means The David Marcus Thumbs Up Charity is able to award four additional scholarships to deserving high school seniors for the graduating class of 2022!

President Trump Sends a Special Message to David
It has been two years since President Donald Trump sent his encouraging message to David, recognizing David as the fighter that he was!
David passed away just 8 short days after receiving President Trump's message on June 20, 2019, but his sentiments were meaningful nonetheless.
Politics aside, we can agree this was a very special and unforgettable gesture by our president. And David absolutely appreciated it!
